parenting

Parenting is hard! Whether you just had a baby and are trying to survive as best your can through those first precious but tremendously difficult years, or you are riding the waves of later stages of development, it is actually possible to thrive during this journey through parenting and lean into the joy, love and fun if you have the right tools and mindset to navigate it.

We are often not taught these things! And the modeling we may have had from our own upbringing can fall short of providing what we need to guide us through our own journey of parenthood.

Counseling can help you learn the fundamentals of child development, emotional/social learning, and behavior management while also validating your experience, give you hope and help you collaborate with others you may be coparenting with.

While parenting is not often the primary focus of counseling, it is commonly intertwined in therapy sessions focused on relationships and other reproductive health issues. With many years of experience and training providing child and family therapy and using evidence-based practices for child and adolescent behavior management as well as a focus on perinatal mental health, I can help you navigate these waters.
